Lifetime award for Wockhardt Foundation’s Dr Huz

National Institute of Cleanliness Education and Research (NICER) recognized Dr Huzaifa Khorakiwala for his contribution towards social issues.


Mumbai:Lifetime Achievement award was conferred upon Dr. Huz (Huzaifa Khorakiwala), CEO and Trustee, Wockhardt Foundation at World Clean Environment Summit organized by National Institute of Cleanliness Education and Research (NICER). The award was given by the committee of International Association of Educators for World Peace (Affiliated to United Nations) and the Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU).

The award was conferred upon him for his achievements in the areas of health, education, water and sanitation. In line with the Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat mission to instill a behavioral change towards cleanliness, Dr. Huz has been consistently working towards protecting nature through two programmes - the Swachh Bharat Recycle Machine and the Pronto toilets and biotoilets.

Through the Wockhardt Foundation, Dr. Huz has touched millions of lives through various initiatives like Little Hearts, Pronto Toilet, Pronto Bio-Toilet, E-Learning, Khel Khel Mein, Wockhardt Skills Development Institute, SHUDHU water purification tablets and Adarsh Gram Yojana, Mobile 1000.

Dr. Huz said, “Working towards the betterment of society and environment is my passion; I dedicate this award to all my partners and warriors who strive for betterment of the society. I will continue doing my bit towards the environment and our society.”

Dr. Huz has also been bestowed with Knighthood from the Ecumenical Medical-Humanitarian Order, Knights of St. John of Jerusalem. He has received an Honorarium Doctorate from the Indian Virtual University for Peace and Education for contribution to society.

The theme for the World Clean Environment Summit organized by NICER was “Clean Environment for a Cleaner World".

National Institute of Cleanliness Education and Research has been established by the Afro-Asian-American Chamber of Commerce, Occupational Research and Development (ACCORD) with a view to translating the vision of the Prime Minister of India for ensuring a cleaner as well as a greener India.

Wockhardt Foundation is a national, not-for-profit organization engaged in social service and human welfare activities. Its 19 programmes have made perceptible change in its areas of operations to the lives of the underprivileged. Mobile 1000, its flagship programme, aims at operating 1000 Mobile Health Vans in rural India and administering free primary healthcare to 2.5 million Indians every year. As of date, there are 86 Mobile 1000 Vans operating in 18 states and doing yeoman service to rural India.
