OneWorld Foundation India (OneWorld) is looking for a highly motivated candidate for the post of Coordinator – Community Radio Facilitation Centre (CRFC).

Position: Coordinator/ Programme Associate – Community Radio Facilitation Centre (CRFC)
Job Location: New Delhi

The candidate would support the Community Media team of OneWorld to manage Community Radio Facilitation Centre. The purpose CRFC is to provide guidance to Community Radio licence applicants, evolve guidelines and toolkits, support capacity building of Community Radio stations etc. CRFC facilitates Community Radio applicants through various stages of licensing, coordinates and liaises with different ministries to expedite clearances, and creates and enhances support systems and mechanisms.

Coordinator/ Programme Associate, CRFC is also expected to support audio-visual productions including OneWorld’s flagship radio programme Ek Duniya Ek Awaaz, coordinate and organise events.

Location: The position will be based in New Delhi. However, the candidate should be willing to undertake occasional travel to project locations inside India.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Minimum eligibility criterion

  1. Degree in Media or Communications or related disciplines from a reputed College/ University
  2. Prior working experience of 1-2 years with a media or community media organisation is desirable
  3. Excellent written and verbal skills in English and Hindi.


Required skills

Interested candidates must possess the following skills:

  1. Excellent understanding of the concept of Community Radio and policy for setting up Community Radio stations in India
  2. Familiarity with Community Radio licensing process, steps and line ministries involved
  3. Familiarity with participatory communication and content creation techniques (in the context of radio and other tools)
  4. Ability to liaison and coordinate effectively with government departments and ministries
  5. Ability to support basic training on Community Radio policy, structure and management of Community Radio, content creation techniques etc
  6. Ability to work with datasets, analyse data, develop statistical reports and create database of Community Radio stations as per different reporting requirements
  7. Ability to write reports and updates
  8. Ability to write news articles and updates for online portals
  9. Ability to manage social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr
  10. Good use of Excel, MS Office, PowerPoint etc.
  11. Excellent inter-personal communication skills


  1. The candidate must be self-driven and have shown high levels of persistence and resourcefulness
  2. Ability to work independently and take initiative
  3. Good communication skills and a confident personality
  4. Committed to social development
  5. Be able to work independently without requirement of regular supervision
  6. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members
  7. Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadline requirements


Duties include following responsibilities but are not limited to

  1. Develop systems and procedures for management of CRFC
  2. Provide regular support to Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) by facilitating Community Radio stations about licensing process, capacity building, resource mobilisation etc.
  3. Liaise with Community Radio Stations, NGO’s, Educational Institutions, Agricultural Universities, government officials, government departments etc to support them in licensing process and address related queries
  4. Provide support in managing the CRFC website by regularly updating content, providing required information; ensure creation and dissemination of newsletter Initiate and support outreach activities of CRFC
  5. Support in planning and organising of seminars and workshops as per plan for advocacy on Community Radio
  6. Update the searchable database of all the operational Community Radio Stations, GOPA
  7. Update and digitise the files of the new community radio application received if required
  8. Maintain the log of queries and visitors on daily basis
  9. Support production of radio programmes, multi-media snippets and write blogs, features, updates etc.
  10. Manage and update social media pages of Community Radio Facilitation Centre
  11. Create training materials like toolkits, instructional videos to aid Community Radio licencing process and
  12. Contribute to the building of capacities within the organisation, especially with respect to the Community Radio Facilitation Centre in context of licensing and regulation
  13. Any other task that may be assigned time to time
